Army launches massive offensive to retake TNLA-controlled Naung Cho town

The military council is launching a full-scale offensive to retake Nawng Cho township in northern Shan State, which is controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).

The military council, which has gained a foothold in the Taung Kham battlefield in Nawng Cho township, which borders Shan State and Shan State, has been making strides since the first week of June to retake the township it lost.

Two sources on the ground monitoring the military situation in the northern region said that the TNLA, which has captured Nawng Cho, is currently on the defensive.

How important is Nawng Cho, which is connected to Pyin Oo Lwin in southern Shan State, Mandalay Region, and the Union Highway leading to Lashio, for both sides?
