Police arrest American teenager who fatally stabbed Burmese man in Houston

Police have arrested an American teenager who stabbed a 39-year-old Burmese man to death in Houston, US, US news reports say.

The man who died from the attack has been identified as Ko Ye Myint Aung, a migrant from Ramtlo village in Falam Township, Chin State, who is now living in the US.

CCTV footage shows Ko Ye Myint Aung falling after being stabbed about 20 times by a young man at a gas station.

Ko Ye Myint Aung died hours after he called for emergency help from the injuries he sustained, and his funeral was held on June 6.

Now, just over two weeks after the incident, police have arrested the young man who stabbed him.

The young man arrested by police has been identified as 17-year-old Lancelot Martinez.

The young man was initially reported by US media to have punched Ko Ye Myint Aung after he mistakenly thought he had placed a beer bottle on the hood of his car.

The young man is now awaiting trial for his crime.
